Mukja (“Let’s Eat!”) was founded by two friends, Peter Chung and Sean Chang, while they were rooming together in college in Atlanta. Located in the Metropolis building on Peachtree Place, the incredible menu includes Southern sides with a Korean twist as well as chicken - and the story behind the restaurant is incredible as well. They have a fantastic $ 7 dollar lunch special 5 pieces with small salad and either rice or fries. If you haven’t spent as much time exploring Midtown in recent months, you might have missed the opening of Mukja Korean Fried Chicken. But Boom Boom is my choice if we only need a few pieces and is closer to me or that I have that craving for the garlic sauce taste. I still do KFC when needing to do a big bucket with biscuits and the sides with extra fries, my old habits are hard to give up on. The fries are also crispy and both the fries and onion rings where good, the coleslaw was also delicious but different from American style. But the spicy spicy was already burning my tongue after the second piece and I stuck to the mild after that. The double frying makes it real crispy but not dry. They cook the and prepare the food in the back in a sub-room so you don't know or see how it's done I took my order home to eat and share.īoth the spicy and mild chicken had a sweet and tasty candy coating. The place is small with only two or three 2 seat tables inside in case you want to eat there. I got there in twenty minutes and waited another ten or fifteen more minutes for my order. Their are only 6 items on the menu, with mozzarella sticks house salad beside the chicken and other items I ordered. Additionally I asked for some fries and onion rings. It comes with your choice of steam rice or coleslaw which I picked. With half the chicken with spicy spicy garlic sauce and the other half with mild garlic soy sauce. So I did and asked for pick up of the the Large 6 piece drumstick, 10 wings combo for $ 20. I had the menu flyer and it recommend that I order 25 minutes ahead. Then I found out that Korean Boom Boom Chicken from Fort Lee opening up in my town, Rutherford NJ, and now I had no excuses not to try it. I was told how good Korean fried chicken was but never experience it and never had the will to go to K Town. I love crispy fired chicken and sometimes I may just peel off the crispy skin from chicken pieces and eat that instead of the chicken meat. Give em and try and I'm sure any wing lover will love this spot, Enjoy y'all! We love this location! Thank you Boom Boom for coming to Rutherford and giving us amazing Korean wing in this area. Boom boom does offer sides but we haven't really tried them due to our love for fries. – the fries are awesome and double fried as well. Be warned my friends the spicy is Spicy, but ohh so flavorful. The soy garlic has a mild flavor and spicy garlic will make you get that gallon of water daily we need lol. – flavors are soy garlic and spicy garlic. We get the #1 when we want some drumsticks in the mix and go with the #2 when we want to wing it up. – there are 4 meal options and we normally order the #1 or #2. – Korean wings are on point for us! There's nothing better than a double fried wing, that's packs a boom of flavor and still offers juicy meat inside. We've been here a couple times and will continue to go back due to their awesomeness =). We found this location thanks to Yelp and the reviews are spot on! Best of all the lunch deal is awesome for less than $10, or you can grab a small order for $12, or if the hunger inside you cwalling $20 for the large order will set you in a lovely chicken food coma! No need to travel up to Fort Lee area, this Rutherford spot has all you need for amazing, crispy, juicy, mild or spicy Korean fried wings. There's definitely a BOOM of crispness flavor to this Boom Boom chicken.
